The Domain Name System (DNS) is a crucial infrastructure component of the Internet. DNS is like a phone book for the Internet - every time you visit a website, your computer uses DNS to lookup the website's IP address, the numerical value used by computers to communicate with each other.
For example, if you enter the web domain Sendori.com, your computer used DNS to find the computer hosting the Sendori.com web site, which is at the IP address 63.150.3.179. Your computer will use this IP address to communicate with the Sendori.com site.
